If you are attending the Challenge Walk MS: Green Lake 2017 this weekend, you might see a familiar sight.
Our late friend Dennis Grace granted us usage of his golf cart when he passed away, thus we will always and forever have the slickest ride at the race track. However, it serves as much more than just a golf cart. Dennis lived with MS for nearly 40 years of his life, and during his time on this earth, he became a wonderful mechanic and engineer. In this case, there is a handle below the steering wheel that operates the accelerator and the brake with the simple flick of the arm. Easy. Perfect for a man who had enough strength in his arms to facilitate such a piece of equipment. Thus, the cart will be on-hand in Green Lake, Wisconsin this weekend not only to help shuttle volunteers and participants around, but to showcase the can-do legacy of a man who didn't allow a disabling disease to slow him down for a second. Who knows, it might inspire another can-do character to do the same... #46 captured the Club Ford win this weekend at the VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival, overcoming an early tire issue that set the team back in the heat race.
Thus, KMPR is done for the season for on-track events. Many thanks to everyone who helped us out this season, including Point B Suspension, Schultz Automotive, Werth Race Engineering, C&M Automotive Performance, Reid Hazelton, Scott Rubenzer, Linear Sport, Styled Aesthetic and Two Dogg Inc. Practice session #1 is in the books. #46 currently sits first in CF/FF and fifth overall behind the FB cars.
We'll have our 1977 All American Racers Eagle DGF Formula Ford on-track this weekend at the VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival XXXII in the Club Ford category for the car's last speed run of the 2017 season.
We encourage all to stop by and enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds at the ELVF, there is a great chance you'll see something there which you haven't seen in years- or at all! [Photo Courtesy of Les Tension Photography] We had some special guests on-hand today to capture via what it is we do around here- preserve, restore and celebrate cars, people and the legacies they carry onward.
We're both proud and immensely humbled to know what we do in keeping the past alive is felt so positively by so many. Stop by your local news stands in December or January to see more about what we do behind the scenes. |
