Sorry Mr. Chapman, but we are going to improve upon your initial design by strengthening what many argue to be the weakest link in the Series 2.

Mike's Elden Wins SCCA Diamond Award

8/23/2021

Today, Paul and Rick took Michael Argetsinger's 1973 Elden Mk10B to the Geneva Concours d'Elegance in Geneva, Illinois.

It was the first outing of the car since its restoration under Paul's meticulous eye, and undoubtedly was the car's first ever Concours outing.

Forty-eight years after Michael trekked across Europe with the Elden, carrying the colors of American Express in the series he managed, his former car took home the SCCA Chicago Region Diamond Award for historical significance.

And it was a unanimous vote by the judges. It says a lot about Michael, Elden racing cars and Formula Ford competition as a whole.

Special thanks to Bob Stone for helping get us an entry this Spring, and as always to everyone who has supported this restoration. Its all for Mike, and we're so glad the car was so well received today.

Cheers Mike!

Elden Mk10B 140/1: Finished

8/16/2021

We have a  laundry list of thank yous for our restoration of Michael Argetsinger's 1973 Elden Mk10B, in no particular order but with all my humble thanks to Josh Ashby, Bill Green, the late Peter Argetsinger, David Kettler, Paul Pfanner, Frank Del Vecchio, Shippert Racing Services, Scott Young Enterprises, Larry Haynes, James Buckton, Danny Stanzl, Tim Woelk, Brian Brown, the IMRRC, Allen Brown, Two Dogg Inc., Andy Antipas, Advanced Engine Concepts, Lee Green, Joe Marcinski, Joby Graham, Maureen Harris, Werth Racing Enterprises, the Hampsheir family and finally Foerster Signs.

I must also add my parents who backed this effort 110% and to Paul Jay, who as always, is a magician. If you saw what this started as, you would have most likely questioned why we would go through such an effort- but the reason was simple- Michael Argetsinger. Paul did what Paul does, and he did it to the same effectiveness of the Eagles that we campaign. 10/10ths all the way.

Cheers Mike.

Best of Luck: Top Gun Racing

8/13/2021

Best of luck to our friends at Top Gun Racing this weekend at the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Look for their #75 Dallara/Chevy to be driven by R.C. Enerson. You can't miss their effort- the blue-and-yellow lightning bolt livery echoes the look of the Johnny Lightning specials, but with a 21st century feel.

Team owners Bill and Stephanie Throckmorton came by KMPR in June to see our shop as well as our 1973 Grant King Racers Kingfish, which holds a great meaning to them as the caretakers of the Grant King Racers shops in Brownsburg, Indiana.

We just took delivery of the Hewland LG500 gearbox for the restoration, which will soon be coupled to Drake-Offy #503, the final Offy John Martin built in his amazing lifetime, which was done at the GKR shops in 2019.

All the best from your friends in Wisconsin!
