Steve Krisiloff was classified 22nd in 1972 All American Racers Eagle #7225 at the Shaefer 500 at Pocono. The then-Art Sugai-owned #90 Eastside Cafe entry was sidelined after 32 laps with piston failure after starting 28th. Meanwhile, Johnny Parsons managed 149 laps in 1972 All American Racers Eagle #7228 for then-owner Tassi Vatis. The modified #92 McIntire Chevrolet-sponsored machine had a piston let go, ending its efforts. Regardless, only eight cars were running at the end of the 200-lap affair, and Parsons was credited with an 11th-place finish after starting 19th. [Hugh Baird Photo] We've been very busy as of late, but since the IndyCar Series is in town, enjoy a slice from the first CART event at Road America back in September, 1982:
Bill Jameison's 1981 All American Racers Eagle #8101-Cosworth glides along the main straight in a wet practice session at the 1982 Road America 200 CART event with Chris Kneifel behind, er...above the wheel. 'CSK' actually had the car up to sixth in the session, as he had similar wet weather experiences at Road America in lower formula cars. On race day, the #47 Metametrix-sponsored ride was sidelined after four laps with ignition issues. It was Kneifel's final ride aboard #8101. |
