Bill and Sandy Schley with KMPR's Rick Dresang at the 2020 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
Bill is the president of the N. Lake Drive One-Hundred Mile Per Hour Club, which took root in the Milwaukee area in the early 1950s. For more, visit www.nlakedrive100mph.com. Paul and Mikey did a superb job getting the front porch of Michael Argetsinger's former Elden Mk10B back to original specifications, right down to the eight holes for the adjustable pedal assembly.
Lower front A-arm pickup points will be added later this week between projects. The 47-year-old chassis had been modified at some point to allow the front 'porch' to lay flat. A proper Mk10B tilts up forward of the front shock pickup bulkhead ever-so-slightly. We highly doubt the car has been this straight since it first rolled out of the Hampsheir's shop nearly half a century ago. |
