We’re pleased to announce that KMPR’s 1972 All American Racers Eagle #7225 will be on the show field March 8th for the 25th Annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance held at the Ritz-Carlton of Amelia Island, Florida.
This will be the second visit for Eagle #7225 at the world-famous event. In 2014, KMPR presented the Eagle in the ‘Offy-powered Racers’ category, where it captured an Amelia Award. For the 2020 occasion, the car known for being Mark Donohue’s final USAC Indy car and Rick Mears’ first will be shown in a collection of cars in tribute to this year’s Amelia Island Concours Honoree, Roger Penske, who owned Eagle #7225 from April 1973 until it was sold to E.J. “Bill” Simpson heading into 1976. The event will mark the first showing of Eagle #7225 on a show field since the September 2016 Dayton Concours d’Elegance, where it was on display in a collection of the top placing cars in the history of Dayton’s then 10-year history as a Concours, as the Sunoco-DX Eagle received the 2011 Dayton Concours Col. Edward Deeds Judges Choice Award as well as Best In Class honors for ‘Indianapolis Cars.’ We look forward to our visit and are sure the Eagle will be a bright spot for many among the 100s of various machines displayed at the prestigious event. |
