Tonight we put the finishing touches on the former Fred Armbruster and Pete Lovely-owned 1958 Thames 800 that was used to transport the duo's Cooper-Ferrari to the 1960 United States Grand Prix, held at Riverside.
During its lifetime, the Thames also transported Ferraris, Loti, Coopers, loads of garbage (we have the receipts from the Tacoma, WA dump) and once, a Stanguellini FJ from the west coast distributor in San Francisco. If you're planning on attending the WeatherTech® International Challenge with Brian Redman in Elkhart Lake, look for this wonderful machine at the Saturday night street car Concours d'elegance, where it will be shown with another amazing time capsule piece riding on the back, an unrestored 1959 Stanguellini FJ. The duo, when paired together, give a distinct look of a team circling the globe for the past few decades looking for a place to be seen. Luckily, for them, next Saturday night is almost here. |
