In late 2021, we messaged Rob Hoffman about a plenum he had laying on the floor of his family's race shop, as they were clearing out old stock. The piece was anodized black, but we knew it was the exact shape and size we needed for Eagle #7228. A deal was struck, and our friend Pete Klain picked it up for us.
After a chemical bath, the anodizing was gone. Then all it needed was a ten-hour polish job by Dad to get it to a Concours-quality shine. It still shows some patina, but all it does is reaffirm the fact it too went as fast as #7228 in the day.
Brick-by-brick, the Commander Eagle is coming into shape.
